I’m thinking about changing my major. Should I do this before, during, or after Orientation?

We strongly encourage students who are interested in changing their major to do so PRIOR to attending Orientation. The reason being: we want to make sure you are meeting with the correct academic college and Academic Success Coach(es) during your session and are registering for the correct classes pertaining to the major you want to pursue. In addition, your major is also associated with a campus: UCF’s main campus or Downtown. Each campus has partial or full Orientation programming on their respective campuses, so we want to ensure you go the right place on the right day!

To change your major, follow the directions here: https://registrar.ucf.edu/change-of-major/

Please note that major changes are not processed immediately and can take some time. In order to see the Academic Success Coach(es) of your NEW major at Orientation, your major change must be processed at least three (3) days prior to your Orientation date. We strongly encourage you to begin this process as early as possible.
