Winter Break is Almost Here!

Posted Monday, November 20, 2017 @ 1:21 PM

Make sure your Knight is prepared for the Winter break! All housing on campus housing will close Sunday, December 10th at 12:00pm, so make sure you Knight has reviewed all of the closing policies for their respective residence hall. If your student is flying home for Winter break, make sure they have prepared their airport transportation options. If you are looking for airport transportation options for Winter break, please see the information below!

 Knight Flight

UCF’s Student Government Association provides a free holiday airport shuttle service called Knight Flight that transports students from the Main Campus to the Orlando International Airport (MCO). Make sure you reserve your spot as soon as possible. The shuttle has limited space, so keep in mind that you are limited to two pieces of luggage per person. Since there are multiple times and dates available, you must sign up for departing and returning buses separately. Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes ahead of the scheduled departure time.  If you miss your bus, you will be responsible for your own transportation to or from the airport.

Knight-Thon

The OSSM Knight-Thon team is still recruiting new members and we would love for your Knight to join us! Next semester, students will participate fundraising events to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in the Greater Orlando area. On April 7th, we will wrap up our fundraising efforts with a 24 hour dance a thon! This includes games, performances, and interacting with families that are benefiting from their fundraising efforts.

Last year, UCF students raised $1,250,961 for Knight-Thon and we’re looking forward to helping them support more families this year! So far, we have raised $1,075.19 for children battling cancer and we hope to raise $6,300 by April 7th!
