Once reservations are open: If you are receiving an error message while creating your Orientation account, it could be because of one of several reasons, or a combination of them:
If none of these apply to you, please reach out to our office so we can further assist and troubleshoot. You are more than welcome to reach out to our office via phone (407-823-5105) or email (fye@ucf.edu).

If you have created an Orientation account, you can log back into it by going here: https://secure.vzorientation.com/ucf/signin.aspx.
We strongly encourage students to sign up for the earliest Orientation session that works for them! It is important to note that our reservation system is set up to only show students the Orientation dates that are applicable to them based on their term of entry, their student type, and other student data related to admissions status.
Additionally, FYE will continue releasing Orientation dates on a rolling basis based on demand. PLEASE NOTE: If your major is associated with a particular UCF campus, you will attend Orientation on that campus (ex: Digital Media students will go to Downtown for Orientation, and Hospitality Management students will go to Rosen for Orientation).
UCF Downtown is located in Downtown Orlando in the heart of the city. UCF Downtown places a strong emphasis on innovative technology to engage students in a 21st-century learning environment and houses the academic offices and numerous classes for the following majors:
UCF's Rosen College of Hospitality Management located in Orlando, Florida, offers students an unrivaled opportunity to learn and work in the heart of hospitality. Named the nation’s #1 college for research and hospitality education by the 2022 ShanghaiRankings’ survey, UCF Rosen College is committed to providing an environment where we educate the next generation of industry leaders through internationally-recognized faculty, innovative academic programs, cutting-edge research, and strong industry and community partnerships, while delivering a global perspective on hospitality management, event management, entertainment management, lodging and restaurant management, and senior living management.
UCF's main campus has been home to the university since 1968. This campus is located in east Orlando and it's safe to say that it does not disappoint in natural beauty, so this is the place to go if you're looking to be one with nature for a while. Here, you can find 800 acres of nature from woodlands to lakes and even an arboretum. Overall, there's plenty of open space to help you feel just as fulfilled by your school both inside and outside the classroom.
If you ever have questions about what you need to do before your Orientation session, you can always refer to your Task List, which you can access once you create your Orientation account. Your task list is a list of action items that you need to complete as a new student at the university. These items must be completed BEFORE you select an Orientation date:
Once these items are complete, you will be able to begin your Orientation reservation!

When you log into your Orientation reservation, you will see your Task List. Once you have completed your Orientation reservation (including submitting payment), your Task List will unlock a task related to Pre-Orientation. This task will have the link to access your Pre-Orientation.
Please make sure to select STUDENT on the login page and then use your UCFID and UCF email (the one ending in @ucf.edu) to finish the process. If you are having any issues with your UCFID, make sure you are manually typing in the numbers rather than using copy/paste. You can then used your preferred name when creating an account.
Please note: your Pre-Orientation account is separate from your Orientation reservation, as well as myUCF.
Pre-Orientation is an online course with information to help you prepare for your transition to UCF and your official Orientation experience. It has sections on:
First Time in College (FTIC) Orientation: Meals are provided for all registered attendees, both students and family/guest members. Attendees will receive breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Day 1 of the program, and breakfast and lunch on Day 2.
Transfer Orientation: Meals are provided for all registered attendees, both students and family/guest members. Attendees will receive breakfast and lunch on the day of their Orientation experience.

If you are a First Time in College (FTIC) student, you are required to take the Math Placement Test. It should be completed before Orientation, otherwise, issues will occur with academic advising.
We understand that some incoming FTIC students may have already earned college-level math credits through accelerated options such as AP/IB/dual enrollment. However, as an FTIC student, according to the University Testing Center (who administers the test) and university policy, you must still take the UCF Math Placement Test.
One example of why this is important is because it’s common for students to change their major after entering UCF. A student may change their major to one that requires higher level math at which time having taken the Math Placement Test will now benefit them. The only section required is the algebra practice test and algebra test. Students will not be required to retake any classes for which they have already earned appropriate college-level math credit. There are no exceptions and there is not an “opt-out” option.
First Time in College (FTIC) Orientation: On Day 1, students have to be present from the start of the orientation (check-in starts at 8:15 AM) till the Money Matters & Spirits and Traditions presentation is over (5:00 PM.) Students may begin eating dinner at this time (5pm) and may leave when they finish.
On Day 2, students have to be present until they enroll to their classes with their designated academic college’s advisors. After class enrollment, students will return to the Student Union to check-out and only then will be allowed to leave. This can be as late as 5pm.
Transfer Orientation: Students have to be present from the start of the orientation (check-in starts at 8:15 AM). Students have to be present until they enroll to their classes with their designated academic college’s advisors. After class enrollment, students will return to the Student Union to check-out and only then will be allowed to leave. This can be as late as 5pm.
We strongly encourage students who are interested in changing their major to do so PRIOR to attending Orientation. The reason being: we want to make sure you are meeting with the correct academic college and academic advisor(s) during your session and are registering for the correct classes pertaining to the major you want to pursue. In addition, your major is also associated with either UCF's main campus, Downtown, or Rosen. Each campus has Orientation programming on their respective campuses, so we want to ensure you go the right place on the right day!
To change your major, follow the directions here: https://assets.sdes.ucf.edu/public/ro-assets/change_of_major_instructions.pdf.
Please note that major changes are not processed immediately and can take some time. In order to see the advisor of your NEW major at Orientation, your major change must be processed at least 3 days prior to your Orientation date. We strongly encourage you to begin this process as early as possible.
Yes! After Orientation, you should refer to your Task List in your Orientation reservation to see what needs to be completed following your in-person Orientation session! These mandatory tasks will support your arrival at UCF and ensure you can be successful as a new Knight.
Of course! We offer an optional Family & Guest Orientation program for all family members, guests, or supporters who would like to attend.
The Family & Guest Orientation is a separate program that will take place on the same day(s) and times as students' Orientation (with the exception of a select number of dates) and provides family and supportive others the opportunity to learn from and ask questions of university staff and administrators, current students, and other families. In addition to the in-person Orientation, families will also have access to an online portal (similar to students' Pre-Orientation course) with campus resource content geared towards family members.
Registration is required and limited for this programming and can be done when the student is registering themselves for their Orientation session. Additionally, all attendees of the Family & Guest Orientation must pay their Orientation fee ($70 for FTIC sessions, $45 for Transfer sessions).

Yes! While the Family & Guest Orientation program is designed for adult support systems of students, we know sometimes it is hard to find childcare and siblings might need to join. Anyone ages 10 and above will need to pay the Family & Guest Orientation fee, but anyone under the age of 10 is free to join. If you choose to bring a sibling/child who is 10 years or older, please make sure to add them to your student’s official Orientation reservation.
UCF’s Family & Guest Orientation is offered for support systems of both first time in college (FTIC) and transfer students. The program for each is centered around providing parents, families, and guests important information about UCF’s processes, policies, and campus resources. You will have time to meet university staff, ask questions, and tackle any “to-do” list items before your student begins classes at UCF. The separate, but simultaneous, program will be structured around various presentations and group conversations, all related to setting you and your student up for success as you begin the transition to the UCF family.
