Reservations for Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 Admits will open Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 9:00am EST. Click here to learn more!

Once reservations are open:
If you are receiving an error message while creating your Orientation account, it could be because of one of several reasons, or a combination of them:

  1. You might have recently been offered admission to the university and our Orientation database has not yet been updated with your information. this process can take up to two (2) business days following your admission notice and is done automatically.
  2. You might not have submitted your enrollment deposit yet. To confirm your acceptance to the university, all First Time in College (FTIC) students are required to submit an enrollment deposit of $200 through their Future Knights portal. Transfer students do not submit an enrollment deposit.
  3. You might have been admitted for a previous semester. If you were offered admission to the university for a semester that is not Summer 2024 or Fall 2024, and either did not enroll in classes or attend classes, you will have to reapply to the University of Central Florida for a new term. For more information, reach out to Undergraduate Admissions at (844) 376-9160.

If none of these apply to you, please reach out to our office so we can further assist and troubleshoot. You are more than welcome to reach out to our office via phone (407-823-5105) or email (fye@ucf.edu).

Once you’re ready to get started, please click here to create an account!

If you ever have questions about what you need to do before your Orientation session, you can always refer to your Task List, which you can access once you create your Orientation account. Your task list is a list of action items that you need to complete as a new student at the university. These items must be completed BEFORE you select an Orientation date:

  • TASK 01: Access your UCF email
  • TASK 02: Contact Information
  • TASK 03: Acknowledge that you will submit Immunization Records (these don't need to be submitted before you make a reservation but you must acknowledge you understand they must be submitted before your actual Orientation date!)
  • TASK 04: Acknowledge that you will finalize Your Admissions File (final documents don't need to be submitted before you make a reservation but you must acknowledge you understand they must be submitted before your actual Orientation date!)

If you have created an Orientation account, you can log back into it by going here: https://secure.vzorientation.com/ucf/signin.aspx.

We strongly encourage students to sign up for the earliest Orientation session that works for them! It is important to note that our reservation system is set up to only show students the Orientation dates that are applicable to them based on their term of entry, their student type, and other student data related to admissions status.

Additionally, FYE will continue releasing Orientation dates on a rolling basis based on demand. We encourage you to reach out to our office via phone (407-823-5105) or email (fye@ucf.edu) if you have any additional questions or concerns pertaining to dates and date selection. As Orientation is mandatory and only offered on certain days, it is important to resolve any issues as soon as possible.

Pre-Orientation

If they are having issues logging in, make sure you have done the following:

  • Created a STUDENT account
  • Manually typed in your UCFID (not copying and pasting)
  • Used your UCF email account (the one ending in @ucf.edu) to log in
  • If password related: you can reset it and the email will be sent to your UCF email account.

If you need any additional help, feel free to reach out to our office via phone (407-823-5105) or email (fye@ucf.edu) - we are happy to help!

When you log into your Orientation reservation, you will see your Task List. Once you have completed your Orientation reservation (including submitting payment), your Task List will unlock a task related to Pre-Orientation. This task will have the link to access your Pre-Orientation.

Please make sure to select STUDENT on the login page and then use your UCFID and UCF email (the one ending in @ucf.edu) to finish the process. If you are having any issues with your UCFID, make sure you are manually typing in the numbers rather than using copy/paste. You can then used your preferred name when creating an account.

Please note: your Pre-Orientation account is separate from your Orientation reservation, as well as myUCF.

Pre-Orientation is an online course with information to help you prepare for your transition to UCF and your official Orientation experience. It has sections on:

  • Academics at UCF
  • Knights' Campus Support
  • Knights Life
  • Money Matters
  • Knights' Rights
  • Your Next Steps

IMPORTANT: This must be completed at least three (3) business days before a student’s scheduled in-person Orientation date. Failure to complete Pre-Orientation in a timely manner prior to Orientation may result in needing to reschedule.

FTIC Orientation

First Time in College (FTIC) Orientation: Some meals are provided for all registered attendees, both students and family/guest members.

  • Day 1: Attendees will receive lunch, and an optional dinner reception hosted by UCF Dining Services
  • Day 2: Attendees will receive lunch. Students who opt-in for overnight housing accommodations will also receive breakfast on the morning of Day 2.

Transfer Orientation: Lunch is provided for all registered attendees, both students and family/guest members.

No. Guests (parents, siblings, friends, etc.) who are attending the Family & Guest Orientation program are responsible for arranging their own off-campus accommodations.

In addition, no overnight accommodations are offered for students attending Fall 2024 Orientation in August 2024.

Yes, overnight accommodations are being offered for First Time in College (FTIC) students who are attending Orientation in May, June, or July. Students can select this option when they are making their Orientation reservation.

No overnight accommodations are offered to the following groups:

  • Transfer students
  • First Time in College (FTIC) attending Orientation in August
  • Family or guests who are attending the Family & Guest Orientation program

The above groups are responsible for arranging their own off-campus accommodations.

FTIC students who have a major at UCF Downtown or Rosen College of Hospitality Management and will attend Orientation on the Main Campus Day 1 and their respective major's campus on Day 2 will have the option to opt-into overnight accommodations on the Main Campus.

If you are a First Time in College (FTIC) student, you are required to take the Math Placement Test. It should be completed before Orientation, otherwise, issues will occur with academic success coaching.

We understand that some incoming FTIC students may have already earned college-level math credits through accelerated options such as AP/IB/dual enrollment. However, as an FTIC student, according to the University Testing Center (who administers the test) and university policy, you must still take the UCF Math Placement Test.

One example of why this is important is because it’s common for students to change their major after entering UCF. A student may change their major to one that requires higher level math at which time having taken the Math Placement Test will now benefit them. The only section required is the algebra practice test and algebra test. Students will not be required to retake any classes for which they have already earned appropriate college-level math credit. There are no exceptions and there is not an “opt-out” option.

First Time in College (FTIC) Orientation: On Day 1, students must be present from the start of the orientation (Check-In starts at 10:00am, earlier if have overnight accommodations and have to check into Housing) until the end of Orientation (Money Matters presentation ends at 5:00pm). If you are part of a special population (ACCESS, LEAD Scholars, EXCEL/COMPASS, etc.) you might have an additional commitment on the evening of Day 1.

On Day 2, students must be present through the Course Registration period of the schedule and until they enroll to their classes with their designated academic college’s Academic Success Coaches. After class enrollment, students must complete the official Orientation Checkout Survey and only then will be allowed to leave. This can be as late as 4:30pm.

See the full schedule here: https://fye.sdes.ucf.edu/ftic-orientation/.

Transfer Orientation: Students must be present from the start of the orientation (Check-In starts at 9:00am) until the end of Orientation, which is Course Registration (enrolling in their classes with their designated academic college’s Academic Success Coaches). After class enrollment, students must complete the official Orientation Checkout Survey and only then will be allowed to leave. This can be as late as 4:30pm.

See the full schedule here: https://fye.sdes.ucf.edu/transfer-student-orientation/

We strongly encourage students who are interested in changing their major to do so PRIOR to attending Orientation. The reason being: we want to make sure you are meeting with the correct academic college and Academic Success Coach(es) during your session and are registering for the correct classes pertaining to the major you want to pursue. In addition, your major is also associated with either UCF's main campus, Downtown, or Rosen. Each campus has partial or full Orientation programming on their respective campuses, so we want to ensure you go the right place on the right day!

To change your major, follow the directions here: https://registrar.ucf.edu/change-of-major/

Please note that major changes are not processed immediately and can take some time. In order to see the Academic Success Coach(es) of your NEW major at Orientation, your major change must be processed at least 3 days prior to your Orientation date. We strongly encourage you to begin this process as early as possible.

Of course! We offer an optional Family & Guest Orientation program for all family members, guests, or supporters who would like to attend.

The Family & Guest Orientation is a separate but simultaneous program that will take place on the same day(s) and times as students' Orientation and provides family and supportive others the opportunity to learn from and ask questions of university staff and administrators, current students, and other families. In addition to the in-person Orientation, families will also have access to an online portal (similar to students' Pre-Orientation course) with campus resource content geared towards family members.

An official reservation is required and limited for this programming and can be done when a student is making their own Orientation session reservation. Additionally, all attendees of the Family & Guest Orientation must pay an Orientation cost ($70 for FTIC sessions, $45 for Transfer sessions).

We encourage people who will be support systems for students as they start at UCF to come to Family & Guest Orientation. This can be parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors down the street, etc. – we know every family looks different, so whoever makes sense for your student is welcome! We can't wait to meet you!
